Meet Mike!

About Mike and Family

I was born and raised in the upper peninsula of Michigan.  After graduating from Northern Michigan University in 2009 I moved to Wisconsin and became a licensed insurance agent.

For 6 years I worked at Humana.  During this time I trained and supported agents on how to help seniors with Medicare.  This was a great experience because I had access to so much more information than I could’ve ever learned on my own.  There were many lessons learned from others that better prepared me to help seniors with their Medicare coverage.

In March of 2017, my wife Stephanie and I welcomed our son Drake into the world.  At this point, I didn’t want to be traveling away from home as often so it made more sense to start helping people directly with their Medicare insurance.

In October 2019 and September 2021 we added to the fun chaos, welcoming our sons Xavier and Kobe. Outside of work, we get outside quite a bit with 3 young energetic boys and our 3 Siberian Huskies.

In May of 2023, we welcomed Tilly (our first girl) into our family. Later that summer, we moved back to the UP to raise our family there.

State Licenses

I was first licensed in Wisconsin in 2009. My license number there is 14104509.

If you are curious if I can help you in a different state, please ask because there’s a good chance I can.

Why I help people with health insurance

In college, I woke up one morning and half of my face wouldn’t move.  Not knowing what was happening, I went to the emergency room where they checked me for a stroke.  Thankfully that wasn’t the case.

I was diagnosed with Bell’s Palsy.

Grand scheme of things, this was much better than the alternative but I didn’t know what it meant.  I continued to see a variety of doctors but nothing was helping.

This went on for over 4 months where I had no movement in half of my face.  I wanted to see a specialist at Mayo clinic but health insurance had quite a few hoops to jump to get it covered.

After what felt like too long, I ended up getting into Mayo clinic and just a few days later I was able to move part of my face for the first time in months.

Soon after that I was back to normal. So I wondered if I had been able to get the care right away, would I have been better that much sooner?

I was already going to school for business but that question lead me specifically to the health insurance world.

I realize firsthand how complicated insurance can be for people.  So my goal is to make this easy for you to navigate the Medicare insurance maze.
