How do I know if I am eligible for Medicare?
Medicare is health insurance for people 65 or older, people under 65
with certain disabilities, and people of any age with End-Stage Renal
Disease (ESRD) (permanent kidney failure requiring dialysis or a
kidney transplant).
Medicare Premiums
- Part A – premium free for most people as long as you or your spouse have worked and paid into Medicare at least 40 quarters (10 years)
- Part B – most people have an additional premium for Part B. In 2019 the average person will pay $135.50 per month for part B
